Older builds will be added as they are verified; until then, use the table to pick the right version number and get the file from a source that checks signatures, such as APKMirror.
We publish old builds from this archive as we verify them against the developer's signing certificate, so a file listed as verified matches the original release. For versions we have not verified yet, APKMirror is the safest third-party source because it checks signatures. Do not take old versions from sites that also offer mods.
Why people want an older version of Snaptube
Three reasons come up: a phone running Android 4.x that cannot install the current build, a newer version that misbehaves on a particular device, and nostalgia for the lighter yellow-icon app of 2017 to 2019. An old APK solves the first two, but old builds fail on YouTube more often because the site keeps changing.
The current release, 7.65.0, requires Android 5.0 (Lollipop). Every phone sold since 2015 meets that, so for most people the right answer is the the download page, not an old one. The archive is here for the remaining cases.
Snaptube Yellow: the classic 4.x versions
Snaptube yellow, or the old yellow Snaptube, refers to the 4.x releases from 2017 to 2019 whose icon was a plain yellow rounded square. Brazilian users call the same thing snaptube amarelo. The app was around 10 MB, opened straight to a search box, and had none of the player, playlist or story-saver features of later builds. That simplicity is why people still ask for it, and why it runs on Android 4.0 devices that nothing newer supports.
What it cannot do in 2026: download reliably from YouTube (the site format changed many times since), download from TikTok or Instagram reels, or run on 64-bit-only phones released after 2021. If you want the yellow look with a working app, the current app's icon is still yellow; only the interface changed.
Is there a Snaptube Lite?
There is no official Snaptube Lite. Files sold under that name are either 4.x or 5.x builds renamed because they are small, or modded packages. If you need a small download because of limited storage, 5.07 at roughly 15 MB is the honest choice, and it is a real release. If you need a small app because the phone is slow, the difference between 15 MB and 29 MB on disk will not be what you notice; the newer app is heavier at runtime because of its player and ad views.
How to downgrade to an older version
Android does not allow installing a lower version over a higher one. To downgrade, back up the snaptube folder, uninstall the current app, then install the older APK and grant its permissions. Your downloaded files stay on the phone as long as you keep the folder.
Back up your downloads
Copy Internal storage, snaptube to another folder or to a computer. Uninstalling the app can remove the folder on some Android versions.

Settings, Apps, Snaptube, Uninstall. Android will not let you install version 5.07 over 7.65, so this step is required.
Install the old APK
Open the older file, allow the source and tap Install. Play Protect may warn that the app is out of date; that warning is accurate.
Grant permissions again
Old builds ask for storage permission on first download. On Android 11 and newer, some 5.x builds cannot write to the old location; set a folder in the app's settings if downloads fail.
Turn off auto-update prompts
Older builds nag about updating. There is no setting to disable it in most versions; ignore the prompt or the app will fetch the current APK.
What you lose with an old version
- Site support. YouTube, Instagram and TikTok change their pages regularly; builds older than a year fail on some or all of them.
- Security fixes. Old versions include libraries with known issues that were patched later, and the 2019 ad-fraud SDK episode covered in the 2019 SDK report affected builds from that period.
- Android compatibility. Builds before 7.x may crash on Android 13 and newer because of permission changes.
- The player. Background play, playlists and the floating window arrived in 6.x and 7.x.

Which old version of Snaptube works best?
For a phone running Android 5.0 or later, the current version is the better choice. For older phones, mirror stores report the 6.x builds as the last to install on Android 4.4 and the 5.x builds on 4.1; check the minimum version on the store page before downloading, since we have not verified those builds ourselves.
Is Snaptube 5.07 still available?
Yes, it is one of the most mirrored builds. Take it from a source that verifies signatures, such as APKMirror, or from this archive once we list it as verified. It is an old build, so expect failures on current YouTube videos.
Can I keep two versions installed?
No. Both use the package name com.snaptube.premium, so Android sees them as the same app.
Where is the old yellow Snaptube?
It is the 4.x series above. The 4.77 and 4.81 builds are the last of that series.
Does an old version remove ads?
