What is a Snaptube MOD APK?
A Snaptube MOD APK is the official package with its code patched by a third party, usually to strip the ad SDK and force the VIP flag on. Because the patched file is signed with the modder's key instead of the developer's, Android treats it as a different app: it cannot update, and nobody has verified what else changed.
Sites label these builds loosely, and the table below sorts the names out. The only one that is a real product is Snaptube VIP, the subscription sold inside the official app.

Pro, Premium and VIP: official vs modded
Inside the official app, the Settings tab has a VIP entry. Buying it turns off ads and unlocks the extras the app lists on that screen. That subscription is the whole difference between the free app and the "premium" experience. Resolution choice, MP3 extraction and the built-in player are already in the free 7.65.0 build.
A modded Pro or Premium APK tries to give you the VIP screen without the payment. It works for a while, until the app checks its entitlement with the server or until a new version changes how the flag is stored. Then the modded app either shows ads again, fails to download from YouTube because the site changed and the app cannot update, or simply stops opening.
How to remove ads the legitimate way
Buy Snaptube VIP in the app's Settings tab, or live with the ads. There is no third option that keeps the app updatable. In the free app, ads appear as marked entries in search results and as full-screen interstitials between actions; they never appear inside downloaded files.
- Install the official APK from the latest version.
- Open the Settings tab and choose VIP (the label may read Snaptube VIP or Premium).
- Pick a plan and pay through the app's own payment screen.
- Restart the app. Ads disappear.

Risks of modded builds
Snaptube's name is one of the most searched terms in the Android downloader space, which makes it a favourite wrapper for adware and worse. A modded APK asks you to trust whoever patched it, and that person is anonymous by design. The problems these builds typically cause:
- Injected ad SDKs. The modder removes the developer's ads and often adds their own. Extra full-screen ad libraries are a frequent finding in public VirusTotal reports for files with these names.
- No updates, ever. The modded app's signature does not match the official key, so it cannot be updated in place. When YouTube or Instagram change their site, the mod stops working and the only fix is to uninstall it and install the real app.
- Extra permissions. If a build requests accessibility or device-admin permissions, walk away; the official app asks for neither, and its full permission list is in the permission-by-permission check.
- Repackaged old versions. Many "latest mod" files are actually 5.x or 6.x builds with a new version string, which is why they feel slower and miss sites.
- Account risk on YouTube. Logging in to YouTube inside a modified client is a good way to get a Google account flagged.
Open Android Settings, Apps, Snaptube, and check the version. Then compare the app's signing certificate with a tool such as App Manager or by installing the official APK over it: if the installer refuses with a signature conflict, the installed copy is a mod.
How to check any APK yourself
You do not have to take anyone's word on this, including ours. Three checks tell you whether a Snaptube file is the real thing, and they take a few minutes.
- Hash it. On Android, a file manager such as Files by Google or an app like Hash Droid shows the SHA-256 of any file. Compare it with the value in the file details. A modded file will never match, because any change to the package changes the hash.
- Check the signature. Install the file only if Android accepts it as an update over the official app. Android refuses when the signing key differs, and a refusal is a reliable sign the file was re-signed by someone else.
- Look it up on VirusTotal. Paste the hash into virustotal.com. The official build's report is linked from our download button. Modded files usually have their own reports, often with adware detections from several engines.

About the version numbers on mod sites
Mod listings usually copy a real version number (7.49, 6.23, 5.07 and so on). Those numbers refer to official releases, which are listed in the old version archive.
