Snaptube fetches the video from TikTok's servers instead, so you get the clip as an MP4 and can also save just the sound. This guide shows the copy-link method on the current app, explains what "without watermark" really means, and covers the situation in India and other places where TikTok is blocked and the app has no source to fetch from.
Download a TikTok video with Snaptube
With Snaptube 7.65.0 on Android: in TikTok, tap Share on the video and choose Copy link. Open Snaptube and paste the link into the Search to download bar. Choose a video quality or the Music option for audio only, and tap Download. The file is in the Play tab and in the snaptube folder.
Copy the TikTok link
Open the video in the TikTok app or on tiktok.com, tap the Share arrow and choose Copy link. Links look like vm.tiktok.com/xxxx or tiktok.com/@user/video/…; both work.
Open Snaptube and paste the link
Paste the link into the search bar on the Download tab and tap search. The video appears with a download arrow. Some versions offer the copied link automatically when the app opens.
Pick video or sound
The sheet offers the video qualities TikTok serves for that clip and a Music section for the audio track alone, as M4A or MP3.
Download
Tap Download. Play it from the Play tab, or open Internal storage, snaptube, to share it or move it to the gallery.
Search results in Snaptube include a Tiktok tab. Searching a creator's name lists their public videos with a download arrow on each, which saves copying links when you want more than one.
Does Snaptube download TikTok without a watermark?
Usually, yes. TikTok's watermark is burned into the file only when you use TikTok's own Save video button. Snaptube downloads the video stream that TikTok serves for playback, which for most videos carries no watermark. Some videos, particularly ones the creator has downloaded and re-uploaded, already contain a watermark in the picture itself, and no downloader can remove that.
If a file you downloaded still shows the TikTok logo and username moving around the frame, try the More formats entry in the sheet and pick a different stream; where TikTok serves both a watermarked and a clean version, they appear as separate options. If every option is watermarked, the mark was in the original upload.
Saving TikTok sounds and music
Choose Music: Fast in the download sheet to get the audio track as an M4A, or Classic MP3 for an MP3. This saves the sound exactly as it plays in the video, including any voice-over. For an original sound used across many videos, download from any video that uses it; the audio is the same.
If TikTok is blocked where you are (India and others)
TikTok has been blocked in India since June 2020, and access is restricted in a handful of other countries. Snaptube fetches TikTok videos from TikTok's servers, so in a country where those servers are blocked at the network level, the download fails with a not-available error regardless of the app. A VPN changes the network, and whether using one is permitted depends on local rules. Snaptube itself is not affected by the TikTok block and is not banned in India; see the the legal status section. In countries where TikTok is available, the steps above work as written.
TikTok photo posts and slideshows
TikTok's photo mode posts (swipeable image carousels with music) are served differently from videos. Snaptube handles them as an image set: paste the link and each slide appears with its own download arrow, and the sound is offered separately under Music. If a slideshow only offers a single video option, that is TikTok's own rendered version of the carousel.
TikTok download not working? Fixes
- Not available in your region. TikTok is blocked on your network. Nothing in Snaptube changes that.
- The link opens the TikTok app instead of copying. Use the Share sheet's Copy link entry, not the address bar.
- Private video. Only public videos can be fetched. Snaptube does not log in to TikTok.
- Download fails on every video. TikTok changed something and Snaptube needs an update. Install the current build from the current release.
- Only one quality offered. TikTok serves a single stream for many uploads; that is the original quality.
