Can you run Snaptube on a PC?
Yes, through an Android emulator: a free program that runs a virtual Android phone in a window on your PC. Snaptube has no Windows or Mac build, so you install the emulator, then install the Snaptube APK inside it. BlueStacks is the usual choice on Windows 11 and 10, MEmu on Windows 7, and BlueStacks Air on Apple Silicon Macs.

Two things to clear up before the steps. First, Microsoft's own Android layer for Windows 11, the Windows Subsystem for Android, was retired in March 2025, so it is no longer a route for new installs; an emulator is. Second, the search terms Snaptube exe, Snaptube for Windows download and Snaptube PC version lead to the same answer: the APK inside an emulator. Any site offering a Snaptube.exe is bundling something else, which we cover below.

Windows 11: install with BlueStacks
On Windows 11, install BlueStacks 5 or BlueStacks 10, open it, drag the Snaptube APK onto its window, and launch Snaptube from the emulator's home screen. Downloads are saved inside the emulator's shared folder, which you can open from Windows Explorer.
Turn on virtualization
Open Task Manager, Performance, CPU and check that Virtualization says Enabled. If it says Disabled, enable VT-x or SVM in the BIOS; BlueStacks runs poorly without it.
Install BlueStacks
Download BlueStacks from bluestacks.com and run the installer. Choose the Android 11 or Android 13 instance if asked; both run Snaptube. The first start takes a minute.

Drag the APK from Explorer onto the BlueStacks window, or use the Install APK button on the emulator's side toolbar and pick the file. BlueStacks installs it in a few seconds; Play Protect does not apply inside the emulator.
Open Snaptube and set the download folder
Launch Snaptube from the BlueStacks home screen, choose a language, then open the Settings tab and set the download location. The emulator's shared folders (Media Manager in BlueStacks) map to a Windows folder so downloads are easy to find.
Download with a keyboard and mouse
Search in the top bar, click the download arrow beside a result, choose a resolution or MP3, and open the Play tab to watch. Full-screen video is available with the emulator's fullscreen button.
If you used the Amazon Appstore and WSA to sideload APKs on Windows 11, note that Microsoft ended support for WSA on 5 March 2025. Existing installs may still work, but there is no new install path, so the steps above use BlueStacks instead.
Windows 10
Windows 10 follows the same steps as Windows 11 with BlueStacks 5. Two differences in practice: run Windows Update first, because BlueStacks needs a recent Windows 10 build, and on a low-end laptop with 4 GB of RAM choose the lighter Android instance in BlueStacks or use MEmu instead.
Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Current BlueStacks releases no longer support Windows 7, so on a Windows 7 PC use MEmu, which still offers Windows 7 builds for 32-bit and 64-bit systems, or an archived BlueStacks 4 installer. The Snaptube APK itself is the same; only the emulator differs.
- Install Service Pack 1 and the latest Windows 7 updates if you have not; emulators refuse to install on the original release.
- Download MEmu from memuplay.com (pick the version that matches 32-bit or 64-bit Windows) and install it.
- Copy the APK into MEmu with the APK button on its right-hand toolbar.
- Open Snaptube, set the download folder in the Settings tab, and use MEmu's shared folder to reach the files from Windows.
A note on old hardware: Snaptube 7.x needs Android 5.0 inside the emulator. MEmu's Android 5.1 and 7.1 instances both qualify, and the 5.1 instance is the lighter one for a machine with 2 GB of RAM. If even that is too heavy, the old version archive has 5.x builds that run on an Android 4.4 instance.
Mac (Intel and Apple Silicon)
On an M1, M2, M3 or M4 Mac, BlueStacks Air is the emulator to use; it is built for Apple Silicon and installs APKs by drag and drop the same way BlueStacks does on Windows. On an Intel Mac, the last BlueStacks 4 release for macOS still works but is no longer updated, and Android Studio's emulator from Google is the maintained alternative if you do not mind a larger install. Downloads inside BlueStacks Air are reached through its Media Manager, which exposes a folder in Finder.
- There is no Snaptube for Mac app and no .dmg; a file with that name is not from Mobiuspace.
- macOS Gatekeeper will ask you to allow the emulator on first launch; allow it in System Settings, Privacy and Security.

BlueStacks, step by step
Install BlueStacks, download the Snaptube APK, then either drag the APK onto the BlueStacks window or click Install APK in the side toolbar. Snaptube appears on the emulator's home screen. Set its download folder to the shared media folder so Windows can see the files.
Install BlueStacks 5 or 10
Get it from bluestacks.com, run the installer and let it finish its first launch. BlueStacks 10 streams some apps from the cloud; Snaptube must be installed locally, which the APK method does.
Get the APK
Download it from the download page on the PC. Keep the file; you will reuse it after emulator updates.
Install the APK
Drag the APK into the BlueStacks window. A toast confirms Installing Snaptube, then the icon appears on the home screen. Alternatively, side toolbar, Install APK, pick the file.
Grant storage and notification permissions
On first download Snaptube asks for storage access; allow it inside the emulator. The notification prompt can be declined.
Point downloads at the shared folder

Fix a black screen or slow video
In BlueStacks settings, Graphics, switch the renderer between OpenGL and DirectX, and set performance to High. A black player window is almost always the graphics mode.
Without an emulator: is there a Snaptube .exe?
No. The developer has never released a Windows program, a Snaptube.exe, a Chrome extension or a Windows Store app. Every Snaptube.exe on the web is a third-party installer, typically an emulator bundle or a download manager with extra offers. Without an emulator, your options on a PC are a browser-based downloader or desktop software such as yt-dlp.
If you searched for Snaptube PC extension or Snaptube for Chrome, the same applies: there is no extension from the developer. Extensions in the Chrome Web Store using the name are unrelated, and Chrome removes YouTube-downloading extensions on sight, so the ones that survive rarely download from YouTube.

Is there a web version?
People search for Snaptube online, Snaptube web and Snaptube website expecting a page where you paste a link, and that is not what snaptube.com is; the official site distributes the Android app. Browser-based downloaders exist from other companies and are the practical answer for a PC, a Mac or an iPhone when you only need a file now and then. They work from a pasted link, usually offer MP4 and MP3, and need no install. Their weaknesses are ads and the fact that YouTube support comes and goes. Common problems and fixes
- Emulator will not start or is very slow. Virtualization is off in the BIOS, or Hyper-V is conflicting. Enable VT-x/AMD-V; on Windows 11, BlueStacks can run with Hyper-V on, but a clean reboot after enabling it helps.
- APK does not install in the emulator. The instance is Android 4.4 or older. Create an Android 9 or 11 instance in the emulator's multi-instance manager.
- Downloads finish but I cannot find them in Windows. Set Snaptube's download folder to the shared storage path and use the emulator's Media Manager or shared folder to export.
- Video plays black or stutters. Change the emulator's graphics renderer and raise its RAM to 4 GB in settings.
- Downloading from Instagram or TikTok inside the emulator works the same as on a phone; the guides cover both.
- Snaptube asks to update inside the emulator. Update with the current APK from the the latest version, the same as on a phone. The emulator keeps your files.
- Antivirus flags the emulator installer. Download only from bluestacks.com, memuplay.com or ldplayer.net; flagged copies from other sites are the bundled installers we warned about.
